The Clemson Brick Forum is the brick industry’s largest gathering of manufacturers, distributors and suppliers, and a can’t miss event for us here at Steele. We showed up with some significant innovations for plants and machine operators, each designed to improve production and lighten the load on your maintenance department. If you didn’t make it to the show, here’s what we shared:
SteeleService 2.0
More secure and mobile-friendly, plus the same 2% discount for online orders
Our new, re-engineered services portal has beefed-up security features and a mobile-friendly design, so authorized personnel can order parts when they need them, securely and easily.
A simple navigation pane stays open as you search and order, with technical documents to guide you through the process.
The new Steele articulating oil manifold
One point for easy access and safe lubrication
This upgrade gives machine operators a safer way to adjust oil pressure, moving them away from the front of the active die door.
Now you can control oil pressure to prevent friction and heat buildup in the die, without compromising worker safety or slowing production.
The new Steele barrel lubrication system
Longer wear life and fewer stoppages from hardcaking
This upgrade eliminates material buildup, delivering oil via custom injection points to prevent hardcaking. This reduces friction and heat buildup in the barrel by allowing the material to flow across the castings.
The result — increased wear life on your extruder augers and liners, with less unplanned downtime from hardcaking, plus a reduced likelihood of catastrophic steam events.
The Atlas Copco GHS VSD+ vacuum system
Reduced scrap product from pressure fluctuations
Steele now offers the Atlas Copco GHS VSD+ vacuum system to operate your machine oil pumps at maximum efficiency, reducing scrap product along with energy and oil usage.
This completely contained vacuum system uses 1/40th the oil previously required to run the system and comes with the same level of service and support as all Steele upgrades and wear parts.
Technical Service Bulletins
Information machine operators need, when they need it
Steele QR codes connect machine operators to Technical Service Bulletins, for fast answers on installation, operations, safety and maintenance.
TSBs give you 130 years of experience with material sizing and shaping machinery — how to improve extrusion efficiency, assemble new units, install pug shanks and knives, and much more.
An essential presentation by George Campbell on common installation errors
In addition to these refinements, George Campbell, our Territory Sales Manager – Mid Atlantic/Northeast, delivered a presentation on common installation errors. If you’re running our machines, you need to see this — it has practical tips on how to reduce downtime and maintenance costs for more efficient operations and a better ROI.
A great way to celebrate our 130th anniversary
When you’ve reached a milestone like 130 years in business, you want to celebrate with your friends and we did. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hello and thank you, as always, for making Steele the leader in heavy clay machinery.
