There’s no standard raw material, but we have the experience and resources to classify your materials and design the optimal machinery and production process. Our global capabilities include lab and test plant services, plant and application engineering, system installation and custom die manufacturing.
The science behind the customer satisfaction
Laboratory and test plant services
Simple solutions need reliable machinery. That reliability starts here with Steele lab and test plant services. Our engineers and technicians test raw materials for processing and continuous shaping, from lab-scale testing with 5 kg up to 20TPH in our test plant.
Once we’ve qualified your materials, we recommend specific machines and a process for preparation and extrusion. These data-driven solutions give you machines that work from day one, delivering reliable, consistent production around the clock.
With lab and engineering locations around the world, we can offer the convenience of local testing with networked technical resources for cost-effective solution development.
We provide material analysis and tests on four continents
— Australia, the U.S., Europe and South Africa.
Steele lab and test plant services offer high/low tonnage crushing, feeding, mixing and extrusion application engineering.
Data-driven solution development

Steele introduces its mobile test plant
Looking at zero-waste steelmaking? We’re reserving slots for our new mobile test plant, to help mills and ferro alloy producers assess their by-products for use as furnace feedstock.
A small footprint, stand-alone system built around our HD-10 extruder, the mobile test plant takes the capital risk out of feedstock development. This system comes with Steele engineering and raw materials expertise. We’ll work on-site with your furnace operators to engineer a consistent, high-quality feedstock, while recovering high-value metallics and carbon units.
To date, Steele customers have found that our trials pay for themselves in recovered value — and even turn a profit. If you want to shorten your supply chain, reduce lost value, and reap the benefits of a circular economy, it’s time to look at stiff extrusion.
For more info about our mobile test plant, talk to your regional Steele sales representative or contact us.
Tell us about your material.
Every raw material is different, so we need to know specific details to determine if stiff extrusion is right for your feedstock needs.
