As today, March 8, is International Women’s Day, it’s fitting that we recognize our Co-President, Marian Steele Clark. She leads Steele operations in Statesville and also serves as a volunteer for the United Way of Iredell County, North Carolina.
The United Way recently honored Marian for her service at the United Way Spirit of North Carolina Awards, presented on March 1 at the Charles Mack Citizen Center in Mooresville, North Carolina. Marian was recognized as a United Way Community Ambassador for her work on the United Way of Iredell County board.
She’s served as president and vice president of community investment and also chaired the country’s COVID response fund. Marian was the United Way of Iredell’s first United Way Life Donor and made a planned gift commitment of $250,000. This set an inspiring example for the area’s donors, as the community comes together to meet the country’s million-dollar endowment challenge. Most recently, she teamed up with the local United Way to purchase meat for the Iredell County Food Pantry during last fall’s beef shortage.
Steele is proud to follow in Marian’s footsteps. We’re a regular Top 15 contributor during their annual campaign and Steele associates make regular United Way contributions. Our people donate money every pay check and Steele matches their gift.
Thanks, Marian, for everything you do. We appreciate your strategic sense, operational focus and kind heart — you help make Steele and Iredell County what they are today.
