One plant needed material versatility, application flexibility and easy maintenance
Problem: |
Customer had three different gypsum sources to feed back into the ball mill, with moisture content of the various materials ranging from 0.1 to 25%, and throughput requirements ranging from 5-154 TPH. Each machine had to feed distinctly different materials. |
Solution: |
We provided the required flexibility with two Double 124E feeders for handling dry DSG, a suspended Double 124E for wet DSG and a Triple 124E for ground scrap board. |

Since 2007, this gypsum plan has processed an estimated 18 million tons of gypsum-based materials through Steele even feeders. Total maintenance costs for these feeders has amounted to less than $6,000 per feeder per year since installation. |
Feeding and sizing
In addition to feeding synthetic gypsum in operations around the world, Steele even feeders can be configured to feed and reduce scrap wallboard. Add cross-shafts to chop and shred soft or friable materials.
Better flow for air swept mills
Gypsum plants use our E Series Even Feeders to feed air swept mills, replacing vibratory feeders and air locks. Even feeders eliminate the turbulence and inconsistent flow that causes fluctuations in feed rate, and power through varying material sizes and moisture levels.
Service and parts to minimize downtime
We maintain a dedicated field service group for on-site maintenance and repairs in the continental U.S. Steele supports in-house maintenance operations with machinery repair and rebuilds in our Statesville, NC plant, with global service and strategic warehousing for customers around the world.
We cast wearing parts in our in-house foundry and ship for fast replacement.
